Kathryn is four and a half months old now, and her adjusted developmental age is two and a half months. She has been home from the hospital for almost 8 weeks now and is doing awesome! She is taking all of her feeds orally through the bottle, and we aren’t using the feeding tube at all. She is up to 10 lbs, 9 ounces and is right on track for her adjusted age. Her muscle tone is looking really good, which is a great sign as she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
In the coming weeks we have follow up appointments with her Neurologist, Neurosurgeon, and Optimologist. Our current prayer focus is that her upcoming CT Scan will show an improvement in her brain tissue since her last scan. Secondly, that the Optimologist has some ideas on ways to help improve her eye contact and focus which has been an area of concern.
While this experience has been by far the most challenging of my life, it has also brought the most blessings as well. I’ve seen miracles happen before my very eyes and met some of the most incredible people. Through your blog, we have experienced generosity from strangers all over the country. We feel that God chose us to be Kathryn’s parents and are honored to be there as she crosses each hurdle.
Thank you for sharing our story, I look forward to keeping you updated on her progress.
